One of our principal vineyard is located in Los Lingues, Alto Colchagua, which is in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Its landscapes make this area exclusive, attractive and fascinating, and it is characterised by the excellent quality of its grapes and where the uniqueness of this valley is best expressed. It is one of the best-known wine producing regions in Chile due to its climate and soil characteristics, giving rise to more structured wines, of excellent quality, with great body and colour, smooth tannins of dry fruit and an exceptional balance.

On our Los Lingues Estate we found the optimal conditions for the production of concentrated and elegant wines which express the best quality that Chile can produce. In 2010 a new hill was incorporated into this property, which permits differing levels of exposure to the sun and specifically a north facing side which promises even more freshness.

It has a Mediterranean microclimate typical of the Andean foothills, influenced by constant fresh winds that descend from the mountains. The large variation in temperature between the days and the nights leads to a slower ripening of the grapes, so that we dispose of an optimal environment for the creation of high quality wines. There exists some cloudiness and moistness on the coast and in the interior there is a marked contrast in temperature between the summer and winter. The breeze present in Los Lingues throughout the day allows the vines to be well ventilated and a constant temperature maintained, leading to a perfect ripening of the grapes which makes this valley unique.

The soils in Los Lingues are characterised by having excellent drainage, and are of Alluvial-Colluvial origin with the soil going from fine sand to clay and granite. There is little organic and fertile matter. At the moment we are performing a thorough analysis of the terroir so as to be able to segment our vineyard, an example of which is our ‘Los Lingues Estate’ where we have found more than 60 different types of soil. With an exceptional combination of rocky soils, perfect for varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Petit Verdot and Grenache. Also there are moderately deep clayey soils, which are ideal for Carménere, Syrah, Mourvédre and Malbec.
